7814 – ‘Fringford Manor '

Completed in January 1939 7814 Fringford Manor was sent to Westbury (Wiltshire) shed.
Following nationalisation 7814 was allocated to Plymouth Laira from May 1948, the plain black livery possibly being applied pending a decision over lining. Moving to Truro in June 1954 7814 returned to Laira that October, moving on to Reading from August 1955, but returning South West to Newton Abbot in June 1956. The engine then moved to Wales, quite possibly following an overhaul and now in the later British Railways livery, with allocations to Cardiff Canton from October 1958, Machynlleth (Feb. 59) and back to West Wales at Carmarthen, Neyland and Llanelly through 1963.
Sent to Gloucester Horton Road shed in June 1964 7814 was withdrawn from service there in September 1965

  • Fully sprung metal buffers, factory-installed pipework and high fidelity dummy screw couplings
  • Early tapered, tapered or straight buffer housings where applicable
  • Optional overhead warning plate bracket on late-BR examples
  • Kinetic NEM coupler mounts on tender at correct height with mini-tension-lock couplers
  • DCC decoder socket in tender (tender roof accessible by lift out section secured by magnets)
  • Choice of lift out sections: empty or simulated ‘coal’ load

  • Very high-quality 3-pole motor with flywheel, low starting voltage and smooth power delivery
