Albatros 1/1250 AL252 Media, the first transatlantic Cunarder to be completed after WW2
Media was built in 1947 for the Liverpool - New York service as a combination passenger/cargo ship, she and her sister Parthia carried 250 first class only passengers plus freight on leisurely trips across the Atlantic. The model is made and painted by Albatros SM, AL252
The pair were said to be poor sea boats, so Media trialled the fitting of fin stabilizers on transatlantic liners with great success. In 1961 Media became the Italian Flavia and was destroyed by fire in 1989 in Hong Kong. Parthia became Remuera and later Aramac before scrapping in 1970.
