Albatros 1/1250 AL292 RMS St Helena 1978-90 the South Atlantic Islands mail ship

A 1/1250 scale metal waterline model of the RMS St Helena (1978-90) by Albatros SM AL292.

When new in 1963, 'North Vancouver' worked around British Columbia and Alaska but was re-named and sent to the South Atlantic to provide a mail service to link the UK, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha, Ascension Island and South Africa when Union Castle Line ceased trading in 1978. She was replaced in 1990 by another St Helena, the last Royal Mail Ship in service that soldiered on until 2017.
