Albatros 1/1250 ALK651 Anadolu LHA Turkish Flagship Waterline Model
TGC Anadolu is the 1/1250 scale, waterline, metal model of the current Turkish Navy Flagship. The ship was built in Turkey and recently visited Portsmouth in an impressive demonstration of the capability of one of our NATO allies.
The model is made in Germany by Albatros SM, catalogue number Alk 651
The ship is a development of Spain's Juan Carlos I aircraft carrier and has been designed to be capable of launching and recovering tha F35 Lightning II aircraft but the US Senate blocked the sale of the aircraft to Turkeyas a sanctionfor Turkish purchase of a Russian Radar System. In the meantime, the ship can operate helicopters and various drones. This ship was the first in the wourld to land an unmand arial drone on board.
