Antics IPA Isopropyl Alcohol Cleaning Fluid 125ml
Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) cleaning fluid for use as a degreasing agent with most mechanisms and electronic equipment including model railway and slot car tracks, pickups, mechanisms and model locomotive wheels.
Safe for use on most plastics, but caution should be exercised to avoid unnecessary contact with decorated (painted/decal) surfaces.
In the event of accidental contact with painted and decaled model surfaces try to remove the IPA quickly, eg with an absorbent tissue, and allow the remainder to evaporate.
DO NOT wipe or rub at the liquid.
IPA can be used to remove unwanted lettering from models - be aware this is done at your own risk, the original manufacturer nor Antics will be able to replace damaged models which have been altered from the factory finish.
IPA will remove the surface layer of model paint/finish if the IPA contaminated surface is rubbed, so can be used to remove tampo-printed lettering from some models. Work slowly and carefully at just the area of the print to be removed. Be aware that the area being worked on will become glossy compared to surrounding areas and may require touch-up painting if too much paint thickness has been affected.
Once the area is cleaned or new decals applied an over-spray of matt varnish or Dullcote will assist in blending the altered area with the original unchanged factory paint.
