CM Models 1/1250 CM460 General Artigas German Passenger & Freight Vessel Waterline Model
General Artigas (ex-Westfalia) was a freighter built foe Hamburg Amerika Line The ship was re-named in the 1930s and transferred to Hamburg Sud management as modelled here shortly before WW2 started. The ship has has been expertly modelled and painted by Carlo Marquart, catalogue number; CM460.
This 2025 model is very finely cast and well painted (see photograph). As usual, the decks are not all decorated but are left in the base colour, in this case white.
During WW2, General Artigas was employed as a Barrack Ship and was damaged and sank in an air raid in 1943. The ship was salvaged and scrapped beginning in 1946.
