Coastlines 1/1200 CL-LA09 Ferry quay, Leknes, Lofoten, Norway
The ferry quay at Leknes is the subject of this 1/1200 scale waterline model.It has been cast in resin by Coastlines Models from one of a series of small wooden dioramas designed and built by John Mitchell and the late Sandy Feather to display a collection of 1/1200 and 1/1250 scale waterline ship models in realistic settings.
The Leknes ferry quay has been modelled to accommodate side-loading passenger and ferries visiting the Islands. Nowadays the terminal building has been demolished and replaced by an end-loading arrangement for Ro-ro traffic and a reception centre with a waiting room and souvenir shop has been built further inland.
