Coastlines 1/1250 CL-LA10 Ferry Berths in the Canary Islands, end loading and side loading
Ferry berths in the Canary Islands are protected by an artificial breakwater. This model is based on a pair of such berths in the Canary Islands where there are several examples. This 1/1250 scale waterline model has been produced by Coastlines models, CL-LA10.
This model of the ferry berths is one of a series of Mini-dioramas made for the late Sandy Feather to display his collection of 1/1250 scale waterline ships (see also the Leknes ferry quay) The Canary Island berths could not be made as finger quays because there was insufficient room behind the breakwater and so they were set at a shallow angle to the shore to allow both side loading or end loading of the ferries, see photograph. The original model had a Triang warehouse on the quayside but that has not been included with this model because new models of the warehouse are still available from Triang stockists.
