Luftwaffe pilots called it the "Shrike" (German Würger), a bird of prey, fast, unpredictable and deadly. The aircraft gained a reputation for being reliable and easy to fly, making it one of the pillars of German aviation in the final stages of the war. The model from COBI reflects all the characteristic features of the Fw 190 F-8 – from the shape of the fuselage and wings, to the details of the cabin and armament. Ideal for both collectors and younger history enthusiasts who want to combine their passion for building with their fascination with military aviation. A model with history in the background! The Fw 190 F-8 was a development version of the legendary Fw 190 A-8 – one of the most effective German fighters of World War II – with additional armor, powerful armament and the ability to carry bombs. Equipped with an improved fuel injection system on the compressor, it allowed for increased performance at lower altitudes, making it ideal for assault operations. The plane was armed with two MG 151/20 20 mm cannons and two MG 131 13 mm machine guns. It could carry a bomb under the fuselage and additional bombs under the wings. Thanks to its exceptional durability and effectiveness, the Fw 190 F-8 gained recognition among pilots, and its operational versions achieved many successes on the Eastern and Western Fronts.
