Cobi 1/48 5743 Douglas C-47 Skytrain Block Model
The COBI construction brick model of the American Douglas™ C-47 Skytrain (Dakota) cargo plane was carefully developed in 1:48 scale and has movable elements such as rotating wheels with rubber tires, movable propellers and ailerons and opening doors. Many blocks have durable prints that do not wear off even during intensive use. The set includes two figures of American soldiers: a pilot and a paratrooper from the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" with a characteristic mohawk on his head. The set also includes a plaque with the name of the aircraft and a reinforced brick display stand with transparent studs.
The Douglas™ C-47 Skytrain, also known as the “Dakota” (DACoTA, or Douglas Aircraft Company Transport Aircraft), was one of the most popular transport aircraft of World War II. Produced by the USA, it was also delivered to other Allied countries. It was based on the design of the civil version of the Douglas DC-3. The aircraft was present on virtually all fronts of World War II, and its operation continued long after its end. It was used, among others purposes, for landing paratroopers and towing gliders, as well as for transporting supplies, ammunition and evacuating the wounded.
