USUAL WIRING METHOD FOR ROTARY SWITCHES: (4 pole, 3 way). The 3 poles (the centre terminals) are wired to the outer connections in groups. The 1st pole controls the 1st 4 outer terminals (numbered 1 - 3). 2nd pole controls outer terminals (4 - 6), etc.
Double check connections when installing the rotary switch to confirm there have been no changes to the construction.
