The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role fighter built by a European consortium made up of the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy. With 4 countries involved it is necessary to have what they call Tranches (similar to contracts) that are broken down into batches and blocks. The development of the Eurofighter began in 1983 with the prototype maiden flight of the Eurofighter taking place on March 27, 1994. The first fully equipped Tranche 2 Instrumented Production Aircraft (IPA7) took to the skies on January 16, 2008.
Exercise Cobra Warrior is designed to develop and practice tactics and techniques by way of complex scenarios against other participants. Exercise Cobra Warrior 2019 took place between September 1st and 20th and used RAF Waddington as the main base. Participating units included Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, the Israeli Air Force made its premiere attendance, Italian Air Force, German Air Force and the USAF. Representing the Italian Air Force 37° Stormo 'Cesare Toschi', 18° Gruppo Trapani Air Force Base was Typhoon F-2000 37-12 c/n ISO53, MM7321/37-12.
