The West Country and Wales saw much of the haulage action on Britain’s railways. Diesel locomotives were outpacing steam when hauling freight around the UK. Great traction and immense power from locomotives were needed to pull the sheer amount of freight needed for dispersed towns and villages. This train set contains a ‘Satellite’ liveried Bagnall 0-4-0 diesel shunter to pull a mixed amount of freight and rolling stock: a Bates Fuels tank wagon, a Gilbert DeChant ore wagon and a Richards & Cronin box van.
