Ruston 48DS 48bhp diesel shunter No.1 QWAG was the first locomotive to arrive at the preserved Great Central Railway in 1972 and performed a lot of useful work in the restoration of the Loughborough to Leicester North line. The locomotive was overhauled after being moved to the GCR(N) site at Ruddington in 2004.
Qwag subsequently moved on, becoming the main motive power for the private East Wressle and Brind Railway.
