In 1980 during the Geneva Motor Show, its new Audi Quattro coupe was presented by the German car manufacturer from Ingolstad. Produced throughout the 1980s, the Italian name highlights its main characteristic: four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive on a vehicle that aimed to generate large numbers on the market was in fact an important innovation for the time. The "Quattro" guaranteed good performance combined with excellent road holding on all types of surfaces. The front longitudinal engine was in fact able to deliver an appreciable performance. A competition version was also made which debuted in the 1981 World Rally Championship and achieved good results.
