John's Model Shipyard 1/1200 RN325 HMAS Australia WW2 heavy cruiser Waterline Kit
HMAS Australia is a 3D resin printed 1/1200 scale waterline kit of the Australian County-class heavy cruiser. She was very similar to the first batch of Counties for the Royal Navy but had taller funnels. The kit is made by John's Model Shipyard (Catalogue number RN325) and requires paint, glue and plastic or metal rod to make the topmasts.
A completed model made from this kit of HMAS Australia in the overall very dark grey camouflage from 1943 is shown in the larger photograph.
Next Warehouse delivery expected mid-November.
HMAS Australia was the first of two County-class cruisers from the first batch of these imposing looking ships in WW2. Both ships had taller funnels than their British sisters. Australia survived the war but her sister Canberra was sunk in 1942 in the aftermath of the Battle of Savo Island.
