Navis Neptun 1/1250 304 USS Nevada, BB36, a new style of Dreadnought, 1916
A 1/1250 scale second-hand model of USS Nevada BB36 in 1917 by Navis Neptun 304. This model is in very good condition, see photograph.
Nevada & Oklahoma (BB37) were the first battleships with "all or nothing" armour but they were fitted with different engines in a competitive trial (Nevada steam turbines and Oklahoma quadruple expansion steam engines).
Both ships were stationed in Bantry Bay to protect transatlantic troop convoys against surface raiders from August 1918. Oklahoma capsized during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. She was salvaged but not repaired. Nevada served with distinction throughout WW2.
