The A40 Mk II was known popularly as the Austin A40 Farina which denoted it from previous Austin models. Classed as a small family car, it was made by Austin (BMC) Innocenti between 1958 and 1967 and came as a 2-door saloon, 2-door hatchback or 3-door van. It was superseded by the Austin 1100.
For its latest Oxford outing, it is decorated in a pastel green and contrasting off-white, registered ARH 102B from 1964. Exterior trim sees silver bumpers, radiator grille and hub caps, a silver waistline along the two doors and the bonnet sides as well as the Austin A40 insignia across the boot. The Austin name in black and silver on the radiator and our little family motor is rounded off with a pale green interior.
