This London Fire Brigade appliance, registered FLE 289, appeared from the 1940s onwards. Highly detailed it carries the LCC London Fire Brigade livery, the crest adorns the sides of the cab and the high level of predominantly black and silver mask spraying on all sides is amazing. The model is topped with a roof ladder tipped in white and even the hose end are masked silver. This model represents a restored vehicle. The Bedford WLG was the long wheel base version of the Bedford WT, which had been introduced in 1933. In 1937, the Government of the day invited tenders for a large number of fire pumps of differing sizes to supplement the existing brigade in case of war. Initially three chassis were utilised, namely Fordson, Bedford and Morris, later joined by Austin.
