The Land Rover Discovery 2 was introduced in 1998 as a successor to the original Discovery. A mid-sized luxury SUV that was designed to be both capable off-road and comfortable on-road. It was based on the same platform as the Range Rover, but it was shorter and more affordable.
The Discovery 2 had over 700 changes compared to the original Discovery. These changes included a new front end design, a redesigned interior, and a number of mechanical improvements. The Discovery 2 was also the first Land Rover to be offered with a diesel engine that was equipped with common rail fuel injection.
It was manufactured up until 2004 , at which time it was sold in over 100 countries around the world. It was then replaced by the Land Rover Discovery 3.
This 1:76 scale OO model of the Land Rover Discovery 2 comes in Alveston Red.
