Oxford Diecast 1/76 76RP5003 Rover P5B Bordeaux Red
The 1:76 scale Rover P5B saloons appears in a deep claret, following on the heels of the dark green model which belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II and the ministerial black version as ridden in by Prime Ministers Harold Wilson and Margaret Thatcher. We come back down to earth a bit now although the detail is still very much high end.
The Rover Company Ltd introduced the P5 in 1958 as a series of large four-door saloon and coupe? cars, continuing manufacture, despite various company mergers and ownerships, until 1973. The unitary bodywork was styled by in-house designer David Bache and the elegant interior was equally matched by the well-appointed interior. Complementing the rich red paintwork on our 1:76 scale replica is the extensive exterior chrome finish which extends to headlights, bumpers, radiator grille/surround and wheels. The impressive gold Rover badge is embedded in the radiator above the number plate. The interior is black with a light beige moulded floor. Our model is registered SUT 154H, dating from 1969. Sheer class!
