This hot little three-door hatchback took the pubic by
storm when it was introduced in the 1980s. Underneath the bonnet was a
124 bhp, 2.0 litre engine and the car came with an all electronic dash
with digital speedometer. Another first for Vauxhall was their
introduction of ‘colour coding’ with body trim that matched the base
colour of the car.
Oxford's model is registered G682 AWK from 1990 and is decorated in a deep
grey with the same colour trim, just like the original. The roof also
features a sunroof. The window trim, rear panel and narrow radiator
grille are finished in black while inside, the seating is a paler grey
with other fittings in black.
It was a very stylish little car with plenty of OOMPH, even by today’s standards.
