The Wolseley 18/85 was a British saloon car which the company manufactured between 1938 and 1948. It had a powerful 85 bhp, six cylinder engine with twin carburettor, overhead valve and was built on a 104” wheelbase.
As colour schemes went, it was usually black, which together with its power, became a favourite with the Police, who used it extensively.
For this release of the four-door saloon however, we’ve bucked the trend and our 18/85 is painted dark moss green with black masking to the upper body, roof, wings and wheels. The interior seating is moulded in a contrasting pale green. Exterior trim is in silver including bumpers, wheels, hub caps and door handles. Our model is registered MPJ 787. Note especially the unique Wolseley ‘Nightpass’ headlights which produced an anti-dazzle dipped headlamp/driving lamp arrangement.
By the end of production in 1948, just over 8000 Wolseley 18/85 had been made before it was superseded by the Wolseley Six.
