The Chevrolet Nomad had a very short production life when launched in 1955, having been developed from a 1954 concept car. A second generation of the marque was launched in 1957 looking very much like a Chevrolet Bel Air. The two-tone option featured throughout production. The car sported a 4.3L V8 engine but was very highly priced. As a result, sales were disappointing and in 1958 it merged with the Bel Air name completely.
The Oxford model is based on the second generation motor and it makes its latest 1:87 scale debut in a two-tone mid blue and refreshing light blue colour scheme. The chrome edged tail fins surround a blue and silver flash which incorporates the Chevrolet name. The wide grille, wheels and bumpers are all chrome but note a mid blue hub centre and wheel surrounds and black tips to the bumper bars. The interior of the car is moulded in the same light blue as the roof and is registered 17385 in Illinois, Land of Lincoln.
