Parkside Kits OO PC85 GWR 6 Ton Mica B Insulated Meat Van Kit Diagram X7
The GWR Mica B was an insulated covered box van designed for conveying fresh or pre-chilled meat. Design diagrams were updated as detail specifications changed, diagram X7 covered the wagons built between 1921 and 1923 with the Dean-Churchward spring-applied brake. Some vans were later converted to convey products sensitive to contamination like tea or confectionery and coded TEVAN in the 1930s. Most vans survived into Nationalisation in 1948, a few lasted into the early 1960 and number 79933 is preserved at the Great Western Society at Didcot shed.
