Rapido Trains OO 936005 SR B96 Class E1 0-6-0T LBSC Marsh Umber Livery SR Prefix
Detailed model of the London Brighton & South Coast Railway class E1 0-6-0 tank engines designed by William Stroudley in 1874. The class was intended for local goods, shunting and piloting duties. Proving successful the class was expanded to 80 locomotives by 1891. Although withdraws started in 1908 30 locomotives entered British Railways stock in 1948, including four working goods services on the Isle of Wight.
Model finished as Southern Railway B96, still carrying the LB&SCR Marsh era umber livery with the SR's B for Brighton number prefix applied at the grouping to resolve numbering conflicts while a new numbering system was devised
