Ratio N 247 Coaling Tower / Loading Hopper

Overhead hoppers provided an easy way to both store and quickly load wagons or road lorries with a range of minerals. This kit is supplied with a hopper unit and a feed casing rising from the ground, allowing a number of installations to be created from the parts. It could be used as a quarry loader for ores or aggregates to fill railway wagons, or as a coal concentration depot loading plant where railway hopper wagons were emptied into underground hoppers with conveyors carrying the coal to the raised hopper bunkers, from where it could be loaded directly into road lorries or bagged.
