The Flakpanzer IV "Möbelwagen" was created in 1944 as a response to the increasing demand for mobile air defense. It owed its nickname to the characteristic armor plates, which were opened during battle and were reminiscent of a furniture van. The vehicle was based on the proven chassis of the Panzer IV and was armed with the effective 3.7 cm Flak 43. This combination made it an important part of German air defense in the late war phase.
