In the first half of WWII, the Luftwaffe's dive-bomber Stuka rained down destructive and thunderous fire over enemy forces. The German infantry placed a lot of faith in the reliable Hanomag which could be equipped with rocket launchers. This scale model has 6 rocket launch frames mounted on the side and shows off the Hanomag's impressive form. The launch frames feature a realistic wooden grain finish. Eight 28cm rockets and two 32cm rockets are included in the set.Interior and suspension both feature a realistic finish. Assembly type tracks included. Four soldier figures in a various poses are also included.Three types of decals as well as decals to depict rocket types are included.
In 1931, the German Arm Weapons Agency began to research rocket technology. In 1941, the NbW 41 28/32cm rockets were the first rockets deployed to the front lines. These rockets could be launched from their simple launch frames. During WWII, the German army used the Sd. Kfz 251/1 as a mobile rocket launcher. The vehicle was equipped with five NbW 28cm rockets ad one NbW41 32cm rocket. Due to the destructive capability of these vehicles, the Sd. Kfz 251/1 was nicknamed "Stuka zu fuss" or "Ground Stuka", which referred to Luftwaffes' Stuka dive-bomber.
