Dempo and Baloeran were Dutch sister ships butDempo served the Allied cause as a troopship and Baleoran was taken over by Germany. Baloeran was re-named Srassburg when she became a hospital ship. Strassburg hit a mine and was beached and abandonned only to be attacked by British MTBs toprevent salvage. Dempo was topredoed and sunk in 1944 by U371 when part of Convoy SNF17
