Academy's 12303 1/48th Scale 70th Anniversary of Normandy Invasion Plastic Kit of a USAAF P-51B Blue Nose Fighter
Low-flying subsonic ground-attack twin-fanjet aircraft, maiden flight in May 1972. Nicknamed “Warthog” by USAF aircrew, more than 700 A-10s were built from 1973 to 1982 and the type is still in service with the US Air Force. A-10C is the current platform standard with further potential for life-extension; plans to retire the A-10 and replace with the F-35 are on hold.
