Always difficult to scratchbuild, these realistic features will enhance any industrial installation that needs a single rail safety barrier. Pack contains 20 injection moulded supports and 400mm length of brass wire.
Loading gauges were an essential feature of all goods yards, most public sidings and many private sidings. The overhead gauge allowed loaded wagons to be checked quickly and easily for height and width of the load, ensuring the load would travel safely.
This Southern Railway design was built with a concrete post. Many of these are still standing!
A simple plastic kit of the GWR standard pattern water crane, complete with base and control column. A drain grille with water catcher funnel is supplied to be positioned under the water bag in the rest position along with a fire devil with tall chimney.
The fire devil is a small coal burning stove type device. The GWR and most other companies used these with the tall chimney ending just below the arm of a water crane to ensure that the water crane did no freeze up in cold weather.
Although listed by Ratio as GWR lineside fencing this type of fence was specified by the Board of Trade who regulated Britain's railways and was used by all railway companies until the increased use of more robust security paling fencing since the 1990s..Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism; glue is required to complete this model. This pack contains 36 posts and enough wire to make 720mm of fencing.
Water trough set comprising sections of trough to construct a total length of 760mm (30in) of trough in your track and two lineside warning boards with lamps and servicing ladders.
The trough can easily be built to a shorter length, or extended by the addition of a second kit. The trough parts have been designed to allow clearance for tension-lock coupler arms. A water storage tank would normally be sited near to the troughs to maintain a supply of water, eg. Ratio water tower kit 506.
Water troughs were installed on many British mainlines to allow steam locomotives to refill their water tanks without needing to stop. A scoop was lowered from the locomotive or tender while running at speed, generating sufficient force to lift the water from the trough to the top of the tank or tender.
This 20,000 gallon design is equally at home replenishing water troughs, a large motive power depot or supplying several platform mounted water cranes (See Ratio Water Crane and Fire Devil kit 413 and Peco LK-2 Water Cranes). Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism; glue is required to complete this model. Footprint 122mm x 49mm
Keep on the right side of health and safety regulations - use these double rail stanchions in locations wherever the general public are allowed. Pack contains 20 injection moulded supports and approx 2 x 400mm length of nickel silver railing.
Classic style fencing modelled on a GWR design, but still seen also in many other places, around parks, public buildings, monuments etc. Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism; glue is required to complete this model. This pack contains: • 2 x 100mm lengths of ramp fencing • 8 assorted gates
