Albatros 1/1250 AL-C1A Philadelphia 1893 America Line as in 1899 Waterline Model
Philadelphia (ex-City of Paris of 1893) of the America Line as in 1899 is a 1/1250 scale wterline model designed, cast in metal, assembled and painted by Albatros SM AL-C1A. This model was originally made by the very fine model maker Colonia but the present model has been completed with wood-coloured decks. Overall length of model including bowsprit is 14.5cm.
Philadelphia had a sistership, New York (ex-City of New York) that was the ship that donated coal to Titanic for her maiden voyage and was the ship whose mooring ropes snapped as Titanic sailed past her as she left Southampton.
