Bogie well wagons were used for loads which would be too tall to fit inside the loading gauge (the maximum size of the train which will pass through bridges etc.). The depressed central well section allowed the load to be carried below the floor level of standard wagons.
This model is a GWR designed 45-ton capacity wagon as running during the early British Railways period, painted in the light grey goods wagon livery. Several suitable loads are available, including large boilers and electricity power transformers.
