Bachmann OO 35-430SF 47376 Freightliner 1995 47/3 Triple Grey Triangle Logos Weathered DCC Sound
Highly detailed new model of the Brush/BR class 47 diesel locomotives, built from 1962 as British Rails' standard general purpose diesel locomotive type. 512 locomotives were constructed and almost 50 are still registered for service today.
Bachmann designed a completely new class 47 model during 2020/21 incorporating an extraordinary level of locomotive-specific detailing, allowing almost any of the class to be modelled at any time period, complete with changes to external fittings, visible modifications and accident repairs.
This model is finished as class 47/3 locomotive 47376 Freightliner 1995 in Railfreight triple grey livery with Freightliner triangular flash logos, cab floor sealing modifications, sealed beam headlight and differing marker lights in the sealed headcode box slot.
Model fitted with a DCC controlled sound system.
Although designed as a general purpose locomotive as rail traffic and services developed several sub-classes were formed. The base class 47/0 carried a steam boiler for heating, while the 47/3 sub-class had slow-speed control systems for MGR freight services and carried no boiler. Class 47/4 locomotives were fitted to supply electric train heating, and many 47/0 locomotives were converted in the 1970s-80s.
