Dapol N 2P-004-018 BR ex-GWR Autocoach W193W Crimson & Cream No Insignia
Nicely detailed model of GWR auto train trailer car or autocoach number W193W finished in British Railways crimson & cream livery, applied to many of these coaches in the early British Railways period, in spite of official directives!
The GWR trailer coach or autocoach was a coach equipped with a driving cab at one end from which a locomotive could be controlled while pushing the coach. This allowed trains to reverse without the locomotive needing to be uncoupled and run to the other end of the train. These coaches are an ideal partner for the Dapol 14xx class 0-4-2 tank and Bachmann Graham Farish 64xx class 0-6-0 pannier tank engines, both classes being designed for working auto trains.
