N gauge is well suited to modelling the modern railway scene with multiple unit trains. These useful class 319 units were built for cross-London Thameslink services and equipped to work from both the 25kV AC overhead supply north of London and the Southern region 750V DC third rail supply.
Class 319 units are now being replaced in the London area by new class 387 and 700 CrossRail units and are being redeployed to other areas, including services operated by Northern Rail over newly electrified routes in the North West of England.
These models will feature switchable directional lighting including destination blind lights, a detailed interior with passenger saloon lights, an accurate non-electrical working pantograph and the unit is DCC sound compatible using the Next18 technology.
