Navis Neptun 1/1250 31N SMS Scharnhorst, the crack gunnery ship in the Kaiser's Navy

SMS Scharnhorst is a second-hand, 1/1250 scale, waterline, metal model of the German armoured cruiser, flagship of the East Asiatic Squadron in 1914 by Navis Neptun, catalogue number 31N. This model is in good condition, see photograph.

With sistership Gneisenau, she overwhelmed the British Armoured Cruisers at the Battle of Coronel but was crushed by the British Battlecruisers at the Falklands a few weeks later.
Gneisenau has not been modelled separately by Navis but the main difference between the two ships was the location of portholes near the bowand this is not noticeable in this scale.
