Built in 1919 for the Atlantic Fleet, she was transferred to the Pacific Fleet in 1922. In 1933, she was struck by the biggest rouge wave ever recordered (112ft or 34m). In December 1941, she was at Pearl Harbor (undamaged during the Japanese attack). After two trips to Bora-Bora, she spent the rest of the war on the Aleutians run. Decommissioned in 1946.
