Albatros 1/1250 Alk90 RRS Charles Darwin
Having arrived new in October 2012, this excellent diecast model of the Royal Research Ship Charles Darwin is a delight! Not a large ship so the model is just 5.8cm long but the detail is excellent as you would expect from Albatros.Built by Appledore Shipbuilders of north Devon in 1984, the RRS Charles Darwin was a Royal Research Ship belonging to the British Natural Environment Research Council. Since retirement on the 6th June 2006, she has been the geophysical survey vessel, RV Ocean Researcher.

She lanquished in Portsmouth following a near sinking incident in 2008, until her final scrapping in Turkey in 2016. Her duties had been taken over by HMS Protector which is also available from Antics.
