Pecos' Streamline range with nickel-silver rail has a well earned reputation for quality and durability, even outdoors.
Concrete sleepers combined with heavy section flat bottom rail came into widespread use on mainline routes from the 1960s.The concrete sleeper version of Pecos' O gauge Streamline flexitrack usins the same code 143 flat bottom rail as the wood sleeper base flexitrack and points and points denoted by the FB suffix. The sleepers are finely moulded with Pandrol type rail clips and the angled pofiles of the sleepers recreated. Each length of track is 1 yard / 3 feet (914mm) in length and features nickel silver rail for excellent electrical conductivity. SL-710FB metal and SL-711FB insulated joiners are required.
Slip turnouts combine a diamond crossing with a turnout, allowing a train to pass onto either of the diverging tracks.These points were usually used in locations where many tracks converged and can prove useful on model railway layouts to reduce the length occupied by junctions.Code 124 bullhead rail. Length 584mm (23in). Crossing angle 8 degrees. Catch turnouts are used in the 'real railway' to prevent collisions by derailing any vehicle which moves towards a route not set for it to pass before it obstructs another track and to derail trains running away in the wrong direction on gradients.These aren't major problems for model railways, but this model of the catch turnout allows prototype track layouts to be recreated.Code 124 bullhead rail.
