Len Jordan 1/1200 L14 SS Gothic, Shaw Saville & Albion liner, 1948-52
SS Gothic was one of four sister-ships built for Shaw-Saville and Albion after WW2. Gothic wasbuilt by Swan Hunters on the Tynr and was selected to act as a Royal Yacht for King George VI but the tour was cancelled. !n 1952 additional yacht works were carrid out and in 1954,  Queen Elizabeth II used Gothic for a trip to Australia but by then Gothic had a white hull.This model is second-hand but is in excellent condition (see photograph)

Once Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and Mauretania (II) had been fully restored and re-fitted, Aquitania was laid up and, in January 1949, the decision was taken to send the last four funnel liner in the world to the scrapyard.
